Volunteer Opportunities

What Can I Do To Help

  • 1: Donate airline miles to The Isaac Orphanage Foundation to help defray travel costs for our project managers as they travel to arrange medical care or help for orphans. Email us to set this up.

  • 2:Consider adopting a child or becoming a foster care family.

  • 3:Organize a special sports-related fundraiser, such as a “Hoops for Orphans” event where children get sponsors to donate a specific amount for every basket they make at the event.

  • 4:During the holiday season, request that those who traditionally give you gifts donate to help orphans instead.

  • 5:Hold a “Birthday Party for an Orphan,” and invite your friends to come and each bring $10 to donate to help an orphan who has probably never had a birthday party.

What Is Happening To Ugandans

                            𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿

School closures mean 370 million children worldwide are missing school meals. Janett, a mother of eight in Mityana says: “In the months they have stayed at home, food is drastically running out.”

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯𝘀

Many parents have lost their jobs or say that their businesses have temporarily shut down. They are unable to afford enough food for their children. Nakanyike in Mubende says: “We are in a crisis. There is no food and no job.”
𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀

Families say that they cannot access enough food. In Indigenous communities in Uganda, supply chain disruptions left grocery shelves empty for weeks. Worldwide, higher prices are making it hard to buy food.

The main cause of child hunger is poverty – and poverty has only increased since the pandemic began. It is estimated that over 100 million people could be thrown into extreme poverty this year as a result of COVID-19.

Food Donation Drop-Off: Philosophy

Each day, 25,000 people, including more than 10,000 children, die from hunger and related causes. Some 854 million people worldwide are estimated to be undernourished, and high food prices may drive another 100 million into poverty and hunger. But we believe if we stand together we can end hunger.

End hunger today

Every day too many men and women across the globe struggle to feed their children a nutritious meal. In a world where we produce enough food to feed everyone, 690 million people still go to bed on an empty stomach each night. Even more – one in three – suffer from some form of malnutrition.Eradicating hunger and malnutrition is one of the great challenges of our time. Not only do the consequences of not enough – or the wrong – food cause suffering and poor health, they also slow progress in many other areas of development like education and employment.

End Hunger Heroes Set up a monthly donation today to ensure that hungry people get the nutritious food they need month-after-month, no matter what.
